Biography
Nathaniel recently joined the PSU Counseling Center as a current practicum and future internship student. He grew up traveling throughout New England and loves exploring new areas and building new social connections. In the past, Nathaniel has worked as an audio technician and a media services IT professional. He currently serves as the assistant director of Antioch University New England’s Writing Center. Nathaniel has a growing interest in wilderness therapy, along with substance use treatment and narrative based approaches.
Counseling Approach and Areas of Specialization
Nathaniel strongly believes in a person-centered orientation towards therapy and that building a strong therapeutic bond is key to the success of counseling. Using cognitive behavioral therapy as a foundation, Nathaniel strives to create a unique, strength-based approach with each client to help them to take charge over their own story and enact the change they want to feel in their own life.
Interests
Nathaniel enjoys wandering aimlessly through the woods, attending live music events, and cooking copious amounts of food with his cat.
