For Mentors

The Showcase of Student Engagement is annual event that celebrates projects, research, and scholarly achievements. It allows students to work present their work with peers, faculty, and the public. 

The Showcase of Student Engagement is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and NH-INBRE. 

The Showcase of Student Engagement is a celebration of student work and may motivate additional projects. It teaches to students to present complex information simplistically. It highlights their contribution to the scholarly community. Finally, it is a great addition their resumes. 

Any student that is registered  as an undergraduate or graduate student can present at the Showcase of Student engagement. Presentations can be individual or in small groups. 

PSU students, faculty, parents/family, friends, alumni, and the public.  

The Showcase of Student Engagement is on Friday, May 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event is in the Hartman Union Building (HUB) Courtroom and other locations TBD. 

Faculty mentors guide the students before, during, and after the submission process. Mentors work closely with the students during the year/semester to help ensure the students are getting a fruitful experience. Mentors are expected to be aware of important dates. 

Submissions are due on Friday, April 18, 2025. The Showcase is open for registration.

Yes. Students may present in a group format. There is no limit to the number of students presenting a project. However, only students that participated on the project should be part of the presentation. Only one submission is needed per group. 

Yes, granted that they contributed to the project sufficiently. 

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Submission notifications will be emailed to the first author, usually within 24 hours of submission. 

You will receive an e-mail from the committee that will notify you of three possible outcomes.

  1. Your submission was accepted. There is no changes needed for your submission. This submission will be part of the showcase program.
  2. Your submission requires further work or revisions. The committee will provide feedback that should be addressed.
  3. Your proposal was not accepted. You will be given a detailed explanation of this decision.

The Showcase of Student Engagement provides the opportunity to present your work, receive feedback, interact with other disciplines and the general public. This is a great way to enhance your resume, your public speaking skills and to highlight your contribution to the scholarly community!

If this is for a class, the mentor would be the instructor that taught the course. Yet, a faculty mentor can be someone not associated with a course. If this is the case, any faculty or staff that agrees to work on your project can serve as a mentor.

The selection committee is made up of faculty from across the University. Members of this committee come from diverse educational backgrounds and will judge submissions based on the criteria provided. See details on the Register page.
