Professional Counseling Programs
The following graduate programs require participation in a group interview as part of the application process:
- MS Counseling (all concentrations)
- EdS in School Psychology
Applications for these programs must be submitted with all required materials at least 2 weeks prior to the interview date. All submitted applications will be reviewed and well-qualified students will be invited to the next available group interview. Group interviews are scheduled on Friday's from 9am-12pm and will be held in-person on the PSU campus with the exception of the January interview which will be held online.
Well-qualified current PSU students applying to the 3+2 and 3+3 programs for the fall semester will be invited to the April "Plus Program" Interview and those applying to start in the spring semester will attend the regular July group interview.
Fall 2027 Semester Start

Spring 2027 Semester Start
- Applications due no later than December 15
- Group Interview - January 8 2027 (online)
Summer 2027 Semester Start
- Applications due no later than April 1
- Group Interview - April 16, 2027 (in-person)
PSU Plus Program Students
- Starting fall of senior year
- Application deadline - March 1
- PLUS Program Group Interview - April
- Starting spring of junior year
- Application Deadline - July 1
- Group Interview - January
Doctor of Education
Students who are applying for the Doctor of Education (EdD) program will participate in the cohort interview process by invitation from the Doctoral Review Committee after completing a minimum of 15 post-master’s credits. The interview process includes individual and group sessions and highly qualified participants will be assigned to the next available summer cohort to complete the doctoral core and dissertation coursework.
